Omgeo

TandemSeven improves usability, connectivity and maintenance of Omgeo's client service application for the Web.

About Omgeo
Omgeo, a global joint venture between The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the world's largest post-trade processing infrastructure provider, and Thomson Financial, a leading provider of financial workflow solutions, is a leading provider of post-trade pre-settlement trade management solutions.

The Challenge
Omgeo hired TandemSeven to provide usability and design expertise for the redesign of ALERT, the industry's largest global database for the maintenance and communication of standing settlement and account instructions (SSI), for the Web. Historically a Windows-based client server application, Omgeo needed to redesign the product for the Web to improve usability, connectivity and maintenance.

The Solution
TandemSeven led the usability and design for Web ALERT, working closely with Omgeo's product management team. This work entailed synthesizing existing requirements, gathering user needs, developing a new navigational structure and information architecture for the application, streamlining workflow and improving look and feel. Several clients were interviewed as part of the process to feed requirements and to validate the new design.

The Results
TandemSeven collaborated with Omgeo's IT team, who completed development and testing of Web ALERT. As a result, the new application provides Omgeo with improved usability, connectivity and maintenance. Since this effort, TandemSeven has worked on several other applications as well.
