TandemSeven hires Dr. Paul Eisen as Principal User Experience Architect

Toronto, Canada, January 16, 2006 - TandemSeven, a boutique consulting firm that specializes in the usability and design of complex applications, today announced the hiring of Dr. Paul Eisen as Principal User Experience Architect. Based in Toronto, Dr. Eisen will lead usability and design initiatives for TandemSeven’s Canadian and internationally-based clientele. Dr. Eisen is an expert in the conceptualization and design of world-class user-centered business solutions enabled by technology.

Prior to joining TandemSeven, Dr. Eisen was a senior director for CIBC, engineering several bank processes including the introduction of image-based check clearing. Earlier, he led the User Experience Design discipline at CIBC and at Immersant, a global Internet consulting firm. In these roles, Paul led key client engagements and designed user experiences for dozens of core business applications, ranging from account-posting and customer-management systems to a variety of customer-facing bank-machine, IVR, and Internet services. A sampling of Dr. Eisen's clients includes AIG Private Client Group, Bank One, CIBC, Fleet Capital Corporation, Fleet Bank, Marshall and Ilsley Corporation, Investor’s Group and Bowne & Co.

In addition to his practical work experience, throughout his career Dr. Eisen has also held positions as an adjunct professor at University of Toronto's Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and at Rochester Institute of Technology's Industrial Design program, where he has designed and delivered courses on human factors of information systems. He is also an active member of several professional communities, including the Professional Engineers of Ontario and ACM's special interest group on Computer Human Interaction (SIG-CHI). Dr. Eisen is a frequent presenter at industry and professional conferences on the benefits and techniques of user-centered design and usability assessment.

Dr. Eisen holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto, and Masters of Science and Doctorate degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research with a specialization in Human Factors from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
