Associated Bank.com: Strategy and redesign for an improved and responsive consumer experience and more effective cross-sell

The Objective:

Increase customer engagement, retention and ultimately revenue while lowering cost to serve on a new platform.

It was time for Associated to overhaul its website for consumers and businesses (small and corporate). They had clear goals of making the site more functional with more and better tools, enabling the cross-promotion of other relevant products and to improve usability and responsiveness. In addition they recognized the need for a more sophisticated CMS to support their growing needs. Associated selected TandemSeven as its user experience partner to develop the strategy and design the new experience.

The Solution:

First things first: understand the client needs. Then design came next.

We took a phased approach, focusing first on a discovery phase that shed light on the customer needs by segment and requirements for the new CMS. We then executed on the vision and requirements by creating a user experience design to fit the needs and new goals of shop/buy online. New functionality was designed to improve social engagement and effectiveness of online advertising. TandemSeven also assisted in content migration and copy writing.

The Result:

A brand new site that is fully responsive and gaining more traction.

The new site was effective in better promoting other parts of the bank and enabling customers to complete key workflows such as account opening and is much better integrated into social networks.
